Bryan in the 60's

Bryan on the back deck at AYCWelcome! My name is Bryan Fowler and I am passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga.  I am a certified VariYoga Teacher, and am registered with the  Yoga Alliance as an ERYT-500.  My primary certification was obtained through the Arkansas Yoga Center with Andrea Fournet. Andrea and I have since joined our passions and created the VariYoga style (see next paragraph). I teach classes at the Arkansas Yoga Center in Fayetteville, Marvin Altman Fitness Center in Fort Smith, as well as area workshops and seminars, and the VariYoga Teacher Training immersions and workshops with Andrea at AYC.  I also teach one-on-one and semi-private sessions in both Fort Smith and Fayetteville.

Andrea Fournet and I are the co-creators of VariYoga, which is a style that recognizes and honors the needs of the individual, and offers modifications and options that 'vary' for each practitioner. The VariYoga style incorporates and acknowledges the traditions of classical yoga, and presents it in a way that is fun and accessible. This approach provides a wide variety of opportunities for individual discovery and practice.  Self respect is emphasized, as well as modification and adaptation in the physical practice. Together Andrea and I teach workshops and classes, as well as teacher training intensives. Visit the Arkansas Yoga Center website for more information on becoming a yoga teacher, and for class and workshop information.

Mason with Fawn in 2010Mason (see her gallery page) is my niece who lives in Juneau, Alaska. It is not that often that we get to visit, so I make the most of the time we have.  I visited Juneau in August of 2006 and asked Mason what part of my visit she enjoyed the most, and she sweetly replied "All of it!"        Visit the Alaska 2006 Gallery.

Photography has long been a passionate hobby and is now moving toward another career outlet. I have been the principal photographer for events at the Arkansas Yoga Center for many years, and you can see my photos on the AYC site as well as in my galleries. Many of my photographs are displayed in the building where I have my private studio. It is my intention to make my photographs and music available for purchase in the near future*. (*the near future being a nebulous term, and who actually knows when all that will come about? I don't, but I'm excited that it WILL!)

Music has been a strong passion most of my life.  I spent many years performing in area churches, traveling with bands, and working in music studios.  I am currently recording many natural sounds for use in future projects.  While in Alaska, I recorded many streams, creeks, waterfalls and rivers.  It is my hope that the music created with this natural beauty will be an inspiration and comfort to many.

My music is currently featured on the Jones' Network production 'Yoga with Andrea'.  This program is currently being broadcast in the Northwest Arkansas area on Jones TV and statewide in Arkansas on Sundays at 4:00pm on AETN.  Visit the Music page for more about my music, and tune in to the show!
